One area of IWB installation that can cause a potential problem is the height at which the board is
installed on a wall. Too high and students / some teachers will not be able to reach important
icons at the top of the screen; too low and those at the back of the room may not see the lower
part of the screen or the teacher is constantly bending down.
Using a moveable screen with a fixed projector is impractical for the following reasons.

For a full installation, once completed, the
projector is set at the correct angle and
distance to fill the interactive board usually
between 1.5 - 2.6 metres away depending on
the projector and board size.

If the interactive board was to be moved down,
the projector would no longer fill the screen.
Current ceiling brackets make it impractical to
move the projector back onto the board with
the resulting keystoning and recalibration
problems.

There are a number of solutions to help address this:

The introduction of a specialist height
adjustable IWB mount means that the board is
fixed to a bracket that can be raised and
lowered easily to the correct height.

The important factor is that the projector (close
projection system - see details below) is also
fixed to a boom bar which is integral to the
mount. As the board is moved up and down,
so does the projector thus ensuring the image
on the screen remains the same

One of the important factors for this solution is the Projector. In order to maintain as short a
distance as possible between the screen and the projector (to avoid extra weight bearing down), it
requires a very short throw wide angle lens projector. Currently, there are only two models
available that fit the solution although additional models will be available by the end of 2007:
* NEC 610 / 615 - can be used with the Loxit system
